Larry Lassiter grew up in a rural area outside of Asheboro, NC, the youngest of five siblings. While growing up, he worked at several jobs saving money to go to college. Those jobs gave him some idea of what he might not want to do for a living. They consisted of being a chicken farm worker, plumbers helper, and a cook/dishwasher/ floor mopper, etc . in a restaurant.
After graduating from Farmer High School, yes, that was its real name, he attended Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC. The saying was that if you could spell Pfeiffer and Misenheimer, you would graduate with flying colors. His degree in accounting led him on a long career in public accounting with a national CPA firm, a local CPA firm, and owning his own practice.
Larry is married to Deloris and they have three children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. They enjoy time with family, rides through the countryside, volunteering, and spending time with each other.
Larry has been President of his Troy, NC Rotary Club twice, served in several positions at the District level including District Governor in 2015-16 and District Foundation Chair from 2017-2020. However, he is best known in his district for his wild golfing attire at the annual district golf tournament. He is currently serving as the Zone 33-34 Treasurer. He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Benefactor, Paul Harris Society member, and a Major Donor.
