George Robertson-Burnett, Past District Governor of District 6890 2013/14, and is the Programs Chair for the Zones 33/34 Leadership Summit 2021. Born in Aberdeen Scotland, George has been known on occasions to wear a tartan skirt, and when so clad he should be approached with caution, as he will also have a small knife (Skean Dhu) down his sock in true Scottish style.
His love of his national beverage, has given him the moniker, George ‘two fingers’ RobertsonBurnett, and he is also distinguished by his native tongue which is reportedly something akin to English. His current position (ending 6/30/21) as Rotary Coordinator for Zone 34, makes him a familiar figure throughout our Zones, and he has twice served as the Chair of Rotary Florida PETS. While being a Major Donor to the Rotary Foundation, and Paul Harris Society Member, George considers himself a membership guy, having spent three years as a District
Membership Chair, and seven years on the Zone 34 Coordinator Team.
George has been, a journalist, retail salesman, office worker, sales representative, customs officer, drug enforcement officer, tax collector, import/exporter business owner, hotelier, pub and restaurant owner, and bed and breakfast operator, which all goes to prove he just can’t hold down a job. George lives in Lakeland Florida with his wife Carole and their daughter Pippa.
